This book is about a girl named October who lives in the woods with her dad. The story gets serious when her dad fell down from a tree, her owl Stig being send to an owl rescue centre, and her mum let her live in her house. Her mother let her go to school and she’s been very gentle to her daughter even October hates her. At last, October’s dad was leaving the hospital, they went back to their little house in the forest, and plant a tree for October’s 12th birthday. On her birthday, everyone came: Yusuf’s whole family came, Daisy and her mum, Kate and Mr Bennett, and October’s mum. They played between the trees, skipping and laughing. Then, October’s mum gave her a gift—Stig’s number ring:“Stig 2450”.
