Look this is the book we are going to read today. It’s called A New Dog.This story is about how they got Floppy.There were so many dogs big and small,yellow and black white ,you know all kinds of dogs, and they were all barking. And the family they were going there to pick one dog as their pet. Ok. Now look at these dogs, which one do you like best? I like this very little Chiwawa, it’s so cute.

Now look here’s Kipper, and Kipper is reading a book. It’s called My Book of Dogs. So Kipper is learning about dogs. Why? Because Kipper wanted a dog.

Oh everyone wanted a dog. Look at this, everyone wanted a different dog. Everyone wanted a dog but a different one. Look, kipper is thinking of a very small black dog with curly fur, curly like this, look. This is straight, if I em. do this, it’s gonna be curly. Em, do you like this one? I quiet like this. It’s very small very cute. But mommy wants a big dog. Ah wow look at this dog, it is as tall as Kipper. But Chip wants a dog that can run and play with him. And Biff wants a dog that can do tricks, em jumps through the ring. And Dad wants a big guard dog. Woof woof. If bad thief or bad guy comes, guard dog will bite him. That one does look a little too fierce, right?

So everyone went to the dog’s house. Ok. So they went to the dogs’ home. Ah this one is called a dogs’ home. Who is this guy? I think his name is called Horris and he’s wearing a vet’s gown because he is a vet there. He’s there to make sure that all the dogs are healthy. And the kennel, look at the kennel, this is a kennel, a big cage for dogs. So the kennel is clean and all the dogs are happy and healthy and the family are here to pick one dog as their pet.

Oh look at all these dogs. Some have very long fur like this one, it has very long fur. And someone, this poodle is funny. It’s got no fur on its body. And I see some black dogs, a big one and a small one. And I see some dogs with spots. Look at this one and this one has bigger spots. And this gray dog is very tall and is howling. That small dog is called a Chiwawa. Look, and the Chiwawa is standing on a very old dog. Funny. There are so many dogs. I don’t know which one to choose. They looked at the dogs.

Which one do you think they will choose? What about this one? Kipper wanted this dog. Look at this dog, it’s even bigger than Kipper. And it was too big, Dad thought. Maybe this dog will not learn good behavior. It will do bad things. For example it will sit on Dad’s chair. Ruff! My chair! Daddy doesn’t want it.

And then,Biff wanted this dog. Look at this, it’s a very small Chiwawa with a pink bow tie.  But mummy is thinking em no it was too little. It’s so little I might trip I might not see and trip over it. That’s not good.

Oh I like this one mummy said. Mum wanted this dog. What’s the mummy doing?
Mum was scratching the dog’s chin.So cute. Mom wanted this dog but Chip didn’t think it was a good idea. Look it would be too strong to leash. It was too strong. We cannot walk this strong dog. No.

Wow look at this one, this yellow dog. It’s not too big not too small and it looks so fun. Everyone liked this dog. I want this. Look it’s got floppy ears. Maybe we can name him Floppy. Hurray!

They took the dog home. Happy Floppy happy everyone and they will make a very happy family.

-because it was too big. It would have bad behavior.

-it’s a Chiwawa with a pink bow tie.
9.-that’s so cute, Isn’t i?. Ok. What was mummy doing then?
-mummy was scratching the dog’s chin.
10.-Yeah that would make the dog very happy. And why do you think everyone liked Floppy?
-He looked like a friendly fine dog.
