Some guests in Shangri-La Hotel saw a ghost at midnight, so all guests streamed out of the hotel. Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose told Mr. Linkletter that maybe they could help.
Mr. Linkletter told the kids all about ghosts he knew. But he didn’t see the ghost with his own eyes. As the elevator door opened, the children saw a figure in white.
The children met Mr. and Mrs. Spivets. Mr. Spivets told them that they heard the ghosts. If they didn’t fight the ghost, they would sell the Shangri-La hotel to a real estate company tomorrow. Then, the children were hired to get rid of the ghost.
The children got more information about the ghost from the guests, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffers. Mr. Spivets invited the children to sleep in the hotel tonight.
The children’s plan was to sneak out at midnight and say hi to the ghost.
The children squashed in the closet to wait for the ghost. Then, the ghost appeared and paused at each door to scare them away.
The children and Livvy checked Room 301. They found a plastic head wearing a spiky white wig in the closet shelf.
They also found the silver sword, makeup, and the tape recorder. Then, the children got Mr. and Mrs. Jeffers in Ellie’s diner.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeffers were actors. They were hired to scare the guests away. It was a good publicity for the hotel is going to be used in a horror movie. In fact, Eatch, Rail, and Roock lied Mr. and Mrs. Jeffers.
Mr. Spivets ripped the document after he knew Eatch, Rail, and Roock’s trick. They should be called Cheat, Lair, and Crook. At the end, the children got three plane tickets, Disney World passes, and fifty-dollar bills as gifts.
