Dink invited Wallis Wallace to Book Nook in Green Lawn to sign books.
WW didn’t seem to be coming after all. All children went out of Book Nook. Dink thought WW had been kidnapped.
They met Mavis Green; a woman had an appointment with WW. They got the itinerary for WW from Mr. Paskey. Dink circled around the words AIRPORT, TAXI, HOTEL, and BOOK NOOK. 
They checked each clue. They were sure WW was on the plane and went to the Hotel by taxi.
They went to the hotel. They knew WW checked-in the hotel at 5 after eight. However, there was no answer to the phone.
The maid who cleaned the Room 303 said that nobody slept in that room. Children thought WW was kidnapped before he went to bed.
Children considered about Room 302. The signature for Room 302 was all smudged. There was a Do Not Disturb Sign on the door. So, the maid didn’t clean the room.
Mr. Linkletter, the children, and Mavis Green went up to Room 303 and 302. Room 303 was empty and spotlessly clean. The voice “HELP” came out from Room 302.
A man was kidnapped in Room 302. However, Ruth Rose said that he was not WW. Mavis Green was.
