Toastmaster Club Speech P3-1 Selective The unique blue marble

Hi Dear fellow toastmasters and most welcome guests, Happy Lunar new year. It is great to see you again and stand on the stage.(deep breath)

We all spent a long new year holiday, did you got a chance to go to the cinema? Interaction. (interaction) Wandering Earth is China’s biggest New Year hit movie right now , the movie is talking about a worldwide migration to another habitable solar system due to the expansion of the sun threatens to engulf the earth. My husband and I are all shocked by the Hollywood-quality visual effects and the heart-touching story, and I keep wiping my tears and nose. Different from the other sci-fic movie such as my favorite one <Interstellar>, <The wandering earth> apparently have a different view of earth and our motherland, Chinese people prefer to take our homeland earth with us to this uncertain journey. Let me leave you a question, Why Chinese will consider taking earth with us?

The movie remind me one of my little dream in my childhood, I am a crazy space fan. When I was a child, some of the nights, I was lying on my bed, I can't stop myself and wondering, where is the end of the universe?  As we all known, the universe is infinite,  compare to humankind, our solar system and universe are illimitable and vast. The movie also make me think deeply about our earth, solar system. Is there a better habitable planet for us in the galaxy?

NASA's Kepler mission aimed to search for places in the universe that could support life. According to their investigation, the most possible candidate planet Mars is not the perfect one to live. Compare to the earth, Mars is a pretty terrible place to live. The more we look for planet like earth, the more we realize that how great and precious our planet it is. Earth is unique and special, It is the only planet we know of that has life. The beauty of the earth is so easy to recognize, the blue sky, the green tree, the beautiful flower, but we human beings always take it for granted.Because of the destruction by human beings, the environment is getting worse and worse. I am that worried about that maybe one day, we have to abandon earth due to the inhospitable environment before the sun engulf the earth. Imaging that there is one day, you have to say bye bye to the earth, how will you feel, will you feel sad and regretful?

What we can do now is to take care of our planet. We are not scientists, but we still can do something in our daily life to preserve our planet. For example, change your light bulbs into LED light bulbs which can save over 85% energy comparing to the normal light bulbs. Do you know what is China's annual wastewater volume? China's annual wastewater volume is comparable to Yellow River's annual flow. It is a big number. To save more clean water, please turn off water when you are brushing your teeth or doing something else. We don't have time to waste. It is the final chance to take action and preserve our home, our country, and our planet.

Back to my question at the beginning, Why Chinese will consider taking earth with us? I think not only we have a deep affection with our homeland, but also because earth is the unique planet in the galaxy. Compare to the tough task to make Mars more habitable, we should be able to handle the far easier task of preserving the habitability of the Earth. It is time to treasure what we have, to fight for our unique blue planet, I believe that if we work together, we can create a better and safer and smarter future for our one and only home.

為了克服之前一直有的杏仁核問題，我一直在找方法，后來發(fā)現(xiàn)可能還是因?yàn)槲仪訄?chǎng)，在上場(chǎng)后會(huì)緊張，另一方面也是因?yàn)橛幸粋€(gè)演講我自己都有點(diǎn)心虛，準(zhǔn)備的不充分，也沒有聽取別人的建議再去修改稿子。所以這次找了楊先森，Carol和小米粥三位來當(dāng)我的評(píng)審員，給我提了一些意見。包括，像背稿，不像在present，沒有太多的互動(dòng)，還有就是一個(gè)生動(dòng)的例子來說服大家。所以，我加入了更多的互動(dòng)。在開始和下半部分加了更多的互動(dòng)，讓大家能夠思考，能夠inspire我的觀眾。我也反思了，以前更多的演講，我沒有側(cè)重互動(dòng)性，自顧自的講，效果不好。以后爭(zhēng)取更多的提前預(yù)演，修改稿子。這次效果不錯(cuò)，我也得到了Best speaker，很開心，繼續(xù)加油。沖鴨！
