圖書介紹

This is a brand new retelling of Homer's 'Odyssey'， the story of a clever but unlucky Greek hero who just wants to get home...but fate has other ideas. It is a new title in 'Young Reading Series Three'， part of the Usborne Reading Programme. It is aimed at fully confident readers who can manage sub-plots and complex sentence structure but don't have the stamina for standard-length books. It is developed in consultation with Alison Kelly， who is a Principal Lecturer in Education and an early reading specialist from Roehampton University.

《The Odyssey》奧德賽帶著他的軍隊和特洛伊戰(zhàn)斗，回程時卻迷失了方向，他們在海上流浪并且依托孤島休整，并在這個過程中遇到了眾多的怪獸及險峻的環(huán)境，而奧德賽成為了最后的幸存者（因為激怒了海王波塞冬）。輾轉(zhuǎn)回國后，在雅典娜女神的幫助下，他終于又重新奪回了政權(quán)成為一國之主。故事改編的精煉，很多復(fù)雜的事件并沒有詳細(xì)敘述，重點在于描寫奧德賽的歷險過程和堅強而堅定求生回國的信念，呈現(xiàn)給小朋友一個英雄形象。適合小學(xué)中低年級閱讀。
