<Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood> 書評(píng)
———————————————— In a little town in South Africa, a little pale baby was bor... ———————————————— In a little town in South Africa, a little pale baby was born in a hospital. The doctor asked the mother who is this boy‘s dad, he never got the answer. This little boy is named Trevor Noah, because of his mother, he was born mixed, the blood of a black African woman and a white German flow in his veins. He was borned a criminal, a result of an illegal love. Because of his skin color, he wasn’t accepted in any group: He is too white for black, too black for colored, and he could never be white. However, he could speak all kinds of tribal languages, thanks to his amazing mother. In his days as a student, he lived with his mother and stepfather. Trevor’s stepfather was a very nice guy, but he sometimes hit Trevor’s mother. Every time, his mother went for the help from police, but every time they refused to help her. As time passed, Trevor’s stepfather began to drink more often and hit his mother more often. Finally, when Trevor started to live by himself, his stepfather couldn’t resist any more. He tried to kill Trevor’s mother, but to some miracle, the gun clicked for four times without shooting a single bullet, taking this chance his mother ran to the car but was shot from the back of her head. But to the doctor’s surprise, the bullet passed all the main blood vessels and nerves, saving his mother. After this incident, Trevor became closer to his mother than ever, and his murderer father was still outside, searching for the mother and son without being captured. This story shows the scary life of a colored African child, making me think of our relaxed life. What if I was Trevor, I would never survive in that terrible place, so let us value the peace and happiness we have.
