That means you dip into the pond and learn about the aquatic habitat. What’s a habitat? Well, a habitat is where an animal or a plant usually is found. So for example, they go to the pond, that means you are gonna dip, dip, dip, dip into the pond and see what’s inside, OK? Why don’t we follow them? So look, they are in the park, here are Wilf and Wilma, and they are dipping, dipping, dipping. What are they holding? Look, he is holding a net, and she is holding a jar. What are they gonna do? I know, he is going to put the whatever creature into the jar and then they are gonna look, they are gonna look at the animals, OK? And they will study, how many legs, what do they look like, do they have wings, OK? Now let’s see. ●Page 1 Ta-da! Wilf and Wilma were at the pond. Do you want to go to the pond? Yes, I do. Look, the pond is really cool. Not like here, it is really hot. OK! You can go to the pond. This is the pond, OK? You have a lot of water. And then what are they holding in their hands? A fishing net, a bucket, and some jars. You can also have a tray, like a tray, you can put whatever you find there, and sometimes the insects here can be really small, so you need a little spoon and you can look at them. So what can you find in the pond? Let me see, fish, fish swim in the pond. And what else? Tadpoles! Yes, what are tadpoles? Frog babies, right? And of course, frogs. And you can see water lilies like this. And what else can you find? Some insects? You are right! Some insects like dragonflies, even some mosquitoes. You can find a lot of little shrimps there too, little shrimp, yum, yum! ●Page 2 OK, so the net got stuck. Er-oh, they got a problem, pull, pull, I can’t pull it out. Oh, stuck, OK? And then Wilf said, help me pull, pull, pull. And then look, there is someone walking here and here is a dog, woof, woof. He must be saying, go, find your friend. This is really a wonderful park. You have a little pond and you see, there are some little fish. ●Page 3 What? This is a big problem. Look, they pulled the net together. Pull, pull, pull, tug, tug, tug. It’s not going to work. It was stuck on some junk. What is junk? Some garbage, the old things that people don’t want, OK? And you don’t want to eat junk food. Junk food will make you really fat, like, what, hamburgers, fried chicken. Don’t eat that, OK? Look, some children are running there, they are chasing each other. OK, you need to pull harder. ●Page 4 So Wilma got a big stick. Look, I got this one, let’s pull together. Alright! Woof, woof, woof, what’s that sound? Some dogs! And the dogs are chasing each other. OK, great! Let’s pull it out, she said. Now let’s pull. I see something popping out. Look, something is emerging from the pond. ●Page 5 OK, pull, pull, and Wilf and Wilma pulled really hard. And here comes a duck, quack, quack, quack, what are you doing there, quack? And then you see? We have a young man and a young woman. And this is the young man, this is the young woman. They are hanging out. And look, there is a dog playing on the grass. And now mum and dad discovered that they had a problem. They have been pulling but nothing is coming out. So probably they are gonna help them. They couldn’t pull the junk out. Probably they will say, mummy, daddy, come and help us pull! Our fishing net is stuck. ●Page 6 OK, so everyone is trying together. Mum and dad helped. Pull, pull, and and they pulled out an old pram. Susan, what is the green and yellow thing on the pram? Let’s see, I think the pram is all mossy. What is mossy? Mossy means it is covered with a lot of moss and algae, OK? So this will happen to everything that is in the pond. A lot of moss will grow onto it and it gets green, OK? Pull, pull, let’s see what’s inside. ●Page 7 OK!And ta-da! Plop! What’s that? It’s a frog. Plop! A frog popped out. It made Wilf jump. All of a sudden, something jumped out of the pram. Of course, that is very scary. And he was surprised! Right? OK! So they got a little frog there. And what else can you see? ●Page 8 Splash! A fish jumped up. There are so many fish swimming in the old pram. So a pram full of fish, said dad. So probably now, they don’t need to scoop anything, they can just study those animals. ●Page 9 That’s very easy now. Pram dipping! They scoop, oh, look, they’ve got a tadpole and some, said Wilma. That is really cool. Now they can study all the little creature there easily. They don’t have to dip in the pond. You just need to dip in the pram. What a discovery! ●ReadAgain OK, so now let’s read it one more time from the beginning to the end. Great! Now do you want to go pond dipping? Let’s go! (展開) |
