從這本書開始注意到點燈人這個出版社，集美貌、趣味、知識于一體的一本好書。
第一遍看插畫和主體文字，第二遍看周邊的注腳和前言，順便再看一遍插畫和內容，依然可以找出新內容，像尋寶一樣。
這本小小的畫冊，把羅馬的各個歷史時期，從成立、到君主時期、共和時期、帝國時期都覆蓋到了。內容包含神話、傳說、史實、民風，非常多面豐富。人物介紹尤為豐富，介紹了羅馬眾神，君主時期的七位君主各自特點，共和時期貧民和貴族，帝國時期的幾位羅馬大帝，還有羅馬軍隊的不同角色，插圖和文字相得益彰。
