作者文筆幽默,介于美式開朗式幽默和英式冷幽默之間的那種。主人公的媽媽恨她自己的孩子,在媽媽身邊時(shí),小女孩生活很悲慘。當(dāng)孩子們?yōu)樘与x德國(guó)的空襲躲到鄉(xiāng)下,即使身有殘疾,在善良的Susan的照顧下,小女孩也有了新生活。
