Tonight we read "Double Trouble" for the second time. We read it for the first time this morning in a taxi on the way to her school. This book is about the twin elephants Dan and Sid who often get the blame for what the other did. So they made a plan to paint each other red and green but their plan was ruined by monkey Pip who sprayed water on them. I read the longer sentences on the left and daughter read all the three-letter words on the right. Though she read laboriously and was frustrated sometimes, she has successfully sounded all the words out using the phonics skills she learned. I'm proud of her. But she refused to discuss the cover picture and also wasn't able to retell the story by looking at the pictures offered in Puzzle 1.
