該書(shū)在Step Into Reading 1系列中屬于略難的，phonics words偏少，更側(cè)重故事性和哲理性。Part One 中獅子放走了抓到的老鼠，并嘲笑??所說(shuō)有一天它可以幫助獅子。Part Two中獅子身陷大網(wǎng)，老鼠咬斷網(wǎng)，拯救了獅子。獅子不再嘲笑小老鼠了，意識(shí)到小老鼠也能幫助大獅子。最后一頁(yè)升華為Always Help Others 的哲理。
兒子邊看書(shū)邊聽(tīng)音頻后，大部分都能自己讀下來(lái)。本冊(cè)的phonics words少，主要學(xué)習(xí)的是介詞的用法，如in a nest，out of the nest,out of(into)the cave,down(up)the hill,along the road，past a castle，through a town，off a cliff.當(dāng)然，龍窩里bling bling閃閃的金光，孩子也喜歡。（17年1月19日讀）
