2020年五年級(jí)的寒假就很漫長，但完成的英文閱讀書籍并不多。終于看完了從11月就開始看的17萬字的《story of mankind – 房龍歷史》，16萬字的《sophie’s world》學(xué)校英文作業(yè)要看《奇跡男孩》《maniac magee》《when you reach me》，還要寫讀后感等，所以重新閱讀。差不多花了3周看完了《sophie’s world》, UG7.3 哲學(xué)啟蒙之書，對(duì)5年級(jí)女孩的心智來說，并沒太大的吸引力。但是她也被啟蒙了幾大哲學(xué)家，涉及柏拉圖，亞里士多德，蘇格拉底，黑格爾，馬克思，達(dá)爾文，比如PLUTO和亞里士多德。小妞喜歡Plato的理論，她說，“anybody could be a philosopher, no matter beggars or noblemen. The beggars are as capable as everyone else. The point is that thinking is not connected with people’s status in the world. Plato thought that everyone is equal. He thought that women are as capable as men. Meanwhile, Aristotle thought that women are a piece of unfinished work. He thought that women doesn’t have this ability of thinking. He thought that they are weak. His idea is not correct of course. However, it is his thought that had an impact on the generations later on. This idea STUCK.” 《sophie’s world》和《房龍歷史》有不少部分內(nèi)容重疊，開啟了孩子的人文世界觀

Having developed the habit of purchasing original novel before/after a major motion picture adaptation coming along. I am never a big hard core sci-fi fan but "the Martian" is exceptional, not only because of the huge success of the film. Hard to believe this is the author's first novel as he handles the narrative and suspension with neat transitions and experienced techniques. And the imagination! Obviously the biggest thrill is how to keep Mark Weatney alive and how to bring him back. Everything build upon it serves the purpose and creates a perfect deserted lifeless land of Mars where the mission seems impossible. Yet, by putting the terribly funny and smart and cute Mark (Matt Daemon) under spotlight, how is it possible to not keep him alive? LOL. One thing I don't like about the writing is when the author tackles emotions or when he preaches. But that's probably one of the least point in the book. Film adaption are wonderful, in general. It condenses the story, highlights human emotions. It is visualized. Plus it save us time. But reading is still essential, to me. It helps me filling up all the gaps and paint my own world in mind.

小朋友讀完了。請(qǐng)她和我說一下故事情節(jié)。小朋友從尾講到頭。為什么這些人在這里挖洞，然后這些人居然都是n代前的祖先就已經(jīng)有了關(guān)聯(lián)/關(guān)系的后代。聽小朋友講，我覺得故事似乎沒有那么有意思了。和她聊，說這個(gè)故事，書里頭從現(xiàn)代開始講起，不斷地flashback/閃回/回憶，似乎更吸引人。開始看的時(shí)候不停問，到底講什么的？是科幻嗎？故事開始確實(shí)有些不好看，一種陰郁沉悶氣氛縈繞，令人焦躁不安?？吹?/4的時(shí)候才覺得有意思起來。看，一個(gè)故事好看不好看，和怎么講也是有很大關(guān)系的。
