哈利波特是大家心目中的啟蒙里程碑,但我心目中的里程碑可能該是what is/was系列。 前不久給老二看了一本what was,完全是新知識,讀了兩頁很不喜歡,不愛看。今天整理時想到換一本已經(jīng)了解背景的,哈,果然這本就愛看了。 這個里程碑也算達(dá)到了??

娃剛讀完I survived的pearl harbor,順勢就把這本同主題的書借回來了。相比起幾乎毫無生詞的I survived,這本書的詞匯難度高了一個等級,也更加詳細(xì)和科學(xué)地寫了事件前后和當(dāng)天的經(jīng)過。是個很好的補充閱讀。可惜沒有AR。

給小朋友的關(guān)于史前地球的書,這是所讀過的最好的一本。最初也是被史前動物吸引,有趣又生動地吸引著讀下去,隨后用這些動物帶著來到人類的進(jìn)化,然后轉(zhuǎn)入地質(zhì)地理學(xué),真正深入淺出。最為推薦的是整本書帶動起來的思路,打破了我們學(xué)校里慣用的一維思維,書中有很多當(dāng)時科學(xué)家提出的假設(shè)及后來得到的驗證,同時從多個角度詮釋Ice Age ,力求幫助小朋友們建立更完整的多學(xué)科的認(rèn)識,文章用詞非常客觀嚴(yán)謹(jǐn),隨時有貼心的詞語解釋,通篇讀下來沒有太大難度,收獲卻是巨大。

關(guān)于二戰(zhàn)中猶太人的悲慘命運,我們看過不少電影、紀(jì)錄片,在以色列、美國參觀過大屠殺紀(jì)念館,可是再讀這本書時,還是感到渾身發(fā)冷。

這本書不是簡單的描述納粹的殘忍、猶太人的悲慘,而是引導(dǎo)讀者看清楚這件事的前前后后,如前言所言“這本書講述了大屠殺是誰策劃的,在什么時候什么地點及如何發(fā)生的,但是依然無法回答為什么會發(fā)生人類互相殘殺的殘忍之事”。

書中許多事件是我們在其他書里、電影里讀過的,可我們也是第一次從這本書里讀到希特勒是如何一點一點的將猶太人逼到絕境,也才更加理解在大屠殺紀(jì)念...
