Nell doesn't care for shopping.
"Dad!Are we finished yet?"
She sees a store that looks more fun.
Nell對(duì)購(gòu)物并不感興趣。
“爸爸,我們買完了嗎?”她發(fā)現(xiàn)了一家看起來(lái)更好玩的店。
"Can I go in and pick a pet?"
“我可以進(jìn)去選個(gè)寵物嗎?”
Here 's Tess and Ted.
They're glad to help,
with pets both small and big.
這是泰思和泰迪。
他們很高興為您服務(wù),無(wú)論你要買的寵物是大是小。
"A dog is a lot fun."
"A pup can beg and dig."
“小狗真好玩。”
“它可以把爪子放在胸前,就像在乞討,還能挖坑?!?Dad's not so sure.
"Dogs make a mess.And who would clean it up?"
Nell begs and pleads,
but Dad won't budge.
爸爸不是很確定。
“狗狗會(huì)把家里弄得一團(tuán)糟。到時(shí)候誰(shuí)來(lái)打掃呢?”
Nell使勁兒懇求爸爸,但是爸爸還是不答應(yīng)。
"No,Nell,not a pup."
“不,Nell,不能養(yǎng)小狗。”
"Well,how about a snake?"says Ted.
"Sid's very friendly,miss."
Sid ties himself around Dad's neck.
“那,養(yǎng)條蛇怎么樣?”泰迪說(shuō)。
“斯德非常友好,小姐?!?斯德把自己的身體繞在爸爸的脖子上。
"Pat him. Let him hiss"
拍拍它,它會(huì)發(fā)出嘶嘶的聲音。
A parrot snatches at Dad's cap,
And perches on a rack.
"No need to worry,sir,"says Tess.
一只鸚鵡搶走了爸爸的遮陽(yáng)帽,然后落在一個(gè)貨架上。
“先生,不用擔(dān)心,”泰思說(shuō)。
Ted can get it back.
“泰迪可以把它拿回來(lái)?!?Dad helps Ted chase the parrot.
They just can't jump high enough.
Ted tries to catch it in a net.
爸爸幫助泰迪去追那只鸚鵡。
他們就是沒(méi)辦法跳得更高一些了。
泰迪想用一只網(wǎng)去抓住鸚鵡。
Dad and Ted huff and huff.
爸爸跟泰迪累的氣喘吁吁。
Nell sees a bat hang upside down.
It looks so very still,
Dad thinks there's something wrong with it.
Nell看見(jiàn)一只蝙蝠倒掛在籠子里。
它一動(dòng)也不動(dòng),爸爸覺(jué)得這只蝙蝠不對(duì)勁。
“Tess, tell us, is it ill?”
“泰思,告訴我們,它是不是生病了?”
"He's only sleeping, sir," says Tess.
"Bats do a lot of that."
"I think he's really cute," says Nell.
“先生,它只是在睡覺(jué)?!碧┧颊f(shuō)。
“蝙蝠經(jīng)常這么做。”
“我覺(jué)得它非??蓯?ài),”Nell說(shuō)
“Dad, can I get a bat?”
“爸爸,我可以買一只蝙蝠嗎?”
Nell counts out her money, but ---
"That's not enough," says Tess.
Then Ted finds something cheaper.
"Look!"
Nell數(shù)了數(shù)她的零錢,但是---
“不夠哦,”泰絲說(shuō)。
接著,泰迪找到了有個(gè)更便宜的寵物。
“看!”
“A bug on a log is less.'
“一只昆蟲(chóng)趴在原木上?!?"Is this the pet you want?" asks Dad.
Nell nods and smiles, "You bet!
That was the greatest shopping trip."
“這是你想要的寵物嗎?”爸爸問(wèn)。
Nell點(diǎn)點(diǎn)頭笑著說(shuō),
“當(dāng)然!今天真是最棒的購(gòu)物之旅。”
"I had fun, and I got a pet."
“我非常開(kāi)心,而且我買到了一只寵物。”

以我們家這個(gè)英語(yǔ)水平來(lái)說(shuō),讀起來(lái)還是挺吃力的,有些單詞總是反復(fù)拼錯(cuò),句子也覺(jué)得挺多挺復(fù)雜。想想這個(gè)還是第一圖書(shū)館,感覺(jué)道路還狠遙遠(yuǎn),不過(guò)也挺期待之后讀2.3.4會(huì)有大的進(jìn)步,這個(gè)故事挺搞笑的,特別是Sid那條蛇纏繞在爸爸的脖子上。
