Dimensions科學教材G2-G5家庭教學

最早知道小花生網就是通過Dimensions的團購。后來也購入了G2-G5的全套教材。關于G2的教學也有過一些實踐體會,收錄在專題“Dimensions”中。當初娃的閱讀水平是G2勉強能讀。但隨著娃閱讀水平的提高,一直以來困擾我們的“英文閱讀能力和認知能力不匹配”問題逐漸消失。在這段時間里,娃在科學方面的中文閱讀也早已進入“深水區(qū)”。由于美國科學教材采取了“螺旋式上升”的理念,在低年級有些概念講得并不透徹,擴展也不豐富。我認為更好的方式是,將G2-G5的所有內容拿來整合為2年左右的課程。與此同時,娃在公立小學也有每周兩節(jié)科學課,要做作業(yè)考試;在家里做各種小實驗也有豐富的“經驗”。所以有大量的教材內容無需過多重復。

Dimensions教材的編寫理念,之前已經撰文論述。我雖然理化生地都學到了至少大學入門課的水準。但在看這套書的時候,仍然覺得有新的收獲。關于科學和工程的事實性知識,現(xiàn)在的孩子們已經有太多渠道獲得。因此,科學教材必須超越事實性知識,也超越僅為趣味的實驗,為未來的理工科學習和研究打下基礎。

可以看出,在低年級,各種概念相對獨立。年級越高,多學科的交叉整合越突出。

Dimensions家庭教學大綱

以下是我為孩子制作的課表,分為4個學期共64周。僅供參考。每周1-2小時即可。一些事實知識較多的,安排的周數(shù)較少;最后一學期有更多綜合的查資料做項目時間。其中部分內容他平時已經了解得很深入,就沒有安排太多時間。表中列出了前兩個專題的Project/Paper。由于平時在??茖W課也會做一些實驗,所以將來在開展后續(xù)課程時,再根據(jù)自己的需求進行調整。
