Interest is the best teacher.

Thinking about the outbreak is getting close to an end, im happy but worried. Lawrence is going back to his dull life in the nursary again. What’s worse, he cannot be exposed to english in daily life as now. So i took fully use of his nap time to read the finally-arrived book.

 Despite reading these instructional books about raising bilinguals before, i still need some inspiration and push to carry on now and then. That’s really the disadvantage of bot having families with the same situation to talk about.

   Anyway, in case i forgot again, take notes here. Interest is always the best teacher. Today We played the game devised last night.  I called it the Train Billionaire. Lawrence is so interested in his lego trains lately. But the whole set of them are not easy for a three-year-old boy, so he can lost patience easily when building the track. Also, he got confused whenever he saw the Arabic numbers 2 and 3. Therefore, my little dinosaur shopkeeper is to provide help when his driver needs groceries, coal, repairment or anything u name it, so long as u can pay with the cash. He kept playing it for the whole day and never seemed bored with it. Somehow it reminds me of my childhood, always imagining childish earthquake or scientific experiments, or raising flags by myself cuz im the single child.

   And thats exactly what have been mentioned in the book. Be creative about games so u can play with him. If not, think what u did during ur childhood. Combine them and make it a new one. Hope i can add more service as time passes by, the excitement would probably fade away.

    Besides, i forgot sth really important, praise and pride. Yesterday when Lawrence was pumping the tire with his dad, he kept saying ”I can pump quickly ”, which startled me and doubted my ears for a while because even my junior-high-school students sometimes misused quick and quickly.Though i searched for a while i didnot use quickly as frequent as fast, i did use it like” Do it quickly” or it appeared in oxford tree “quick! Quick! Dad!” When kipper got stuck in the net. Anyway, i appeared great happiness and pride to him. He was so delighted. And that suddenly reminded me that, i seldom or never praised him before when he can speak in English. I always took it for granted and thought negatively when he used it in the wrong way. 

    For now on, i should spare no effort in praising him for speaking correctly in English.

   Today’s plan with raz is not as expected. Knowing others reading 10 raz for the kids makes me stressful and wanna try. Though these raz AA has been read to him like a year ago, he seems so irritated when i read them but he just can remember 60% of the sentence pattern or new words. I really should slow down when i read them for the first time. Now he lost the interest for it has been read before and also there is almost no plot in it. However, Mom and I was fun to him cuz i introduce the special parts of the different animals like Kangaroos. 

   Now my plan is to reread the raz AA in order to offer new words and sentence patterns and Rigby stars And other Similar books. But just one time and pass.

   Tomorrow we r going to planwhat’s the time, mr. wolf to review the time. Recently he is a bit interest in the calendar. But wait, one thing at a time. The clock is ticking. Almost no time for me teach more before going to the Kindergarten, but always remind myself that fun and pride should go first. Life is not a competition.
