Not many people may see or experience a fire, but residents in this Greenland apartment building just did. On September 18, a fire bursted in a giant building next to Jing'an District Sport Stadium in Shanghai, leaving more than five people injured and debris all around.

People in the stadium heard loud explosions. Following the sound was smoke pouring out of two windows on the third floor of a pink six-story building right beside the tennis courts in the stadium. The staff members and officers nearby evacuated everyone. As the raging fire burned the building, tiles got loose and fell down like fireballs onto the ground. By this time, the firefighters had already been called.

Five minutes passed when fire trucks arrived at the scene, shooting water and starting their rescue for the residents. One man, Henry, who was there when the fire broke out said, “It was very scary even though you knew that the fire is not going to hurt you or anyone on the ground some distance away from the building, but I kept running until I was so far that some people around me did not even know there was a fire.” Another man called Tony said, “I did not know that I would see this kind of scene today. I did not run away in fear, but I felt bad for everyone in that building, and their loss.”
