每本書包含200多首動物 /自然主題的詩歌，并配有150張讓人驚艷的高清照片。一句話，美到心顫！孩子在讀詩的同時，一口氣把蕓蕓動物世界看個遍...實(shí)話說，即使一個字都不認(rèn)得，我也一定要把這本書放入孩子的書架！

除了國家地理一直以來的高水準(zhǔn)圖片，這套書的編者也大有來頭。主編 J.Patrick Lewis （J. 帕特里克·劉易斯 ），是美國著名兒童作家和桂冠詩人。

美國桂冠詩人是由美國國會圖書館 自1985年開始設(shè)立的一項(xiàng)榮譽(yù)頭銜，相當(dāng)于“詩人”界的“奧斯卡”。

老爺子曾是一位經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)家，寫的都是學(xué)術(shù)文章，他曾經(jīng)自嘲說：“只有把人們都綁在凳子上才會看我的文章，這不是我想要的生活?！?nbsp;

于是乎，轉(zhuǎn)行寫起了兒童詩。沒想到，一個轉(zhuǎn)身，竟然就寫到了“詩人界奧斯卡”的水平。

他的詩風(fēng)趣幽默又充滿睿智，不少作品被選入了這套詩集。分享一首選入書中的代表作 Make the Earth Your Companion 《與地球?yàn)榘椤罚?/p>

Lewis 在選詩上傾注了很大的心血，“組建”了一支由橫跨不同世紀(jì)、不同國家的著名詩人組成的“作者團(tuán)隊(duì)”，選編了超過400首優(yōu)秀的英文詩歌。

有像 Rudyard Kipling 這樣的英語文學(xué)巨匠，還有 Emily Dickinson 等英語詩歌中的泰斗；有近現(xiàn)代的著名詩人，比如 Jack Prelusky，Jane Yolan 等等；竟然還有我們的唐伯虎！

每本書的詩歌被分為9個部分，對動物和自然的分類不再是純粹的 “哺乳動物”、“森林”、“海洋”這種科普名詞，而是充滿了人情味兒。比如，動物被分為：

詩歌是zui佳文字的zui佳組合。

年紀(jì)小的孩子對詩的反應(yīng)就跟呼吸一樣自然，甚至是還不會講話的孩子也一樣喜歡聽到有韻律節(jié)奏的調(diào)子。所以，讓孩子從小接觸英文詩歌，是培養(yǎng)英文語感、英語學(xué)習(xí)興趣的一個美妙途徑。

1、讀詩歌可以極大提升外語詞匯。隨便找一個高產(chǎn)的詩人（作品100首以上），把里面所有詞徹底弄清，詞匯量輕松上萬沒問題；
