小東西的見解。
-----------------------------------------------
I think that this video was made to make us think about what impacts the existence of smartphonesmake on our society. One message I understood is that the existence of smartphones is a double blade, because they can both bring convenience to our lives through easier communication and at the same time eradicate some of the important parts of communication, which is face to face interaction. I don't think my phone is a distraction, since I never text, and I don't have Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media. 99% of the times I only use my phone to take photos, check the time, set alarms, contact my parents, and to listen to music, therefore I would say it is much more of a help than distraction. I got my first phone when I was 9, but until now I have never felt that I cannot live without my phone, since I only need it to contact my parents who are far away, and to make communications easier, and those things can always be accomplished by other means.
I think smart phones are both hurting and enhancing communication. If used appropriately, they are very convenient, but if used too much, then they harm the face to face interaction part of communication. I think that everything has a good side and a bad side, but we can always find a balance between the two ends of the scale. In my opinion, that balance point is using our smartphones when we need to obtain information, and not using them when there are others around to talk to. Cell phones are of a great help to our lives, and I think we should all try to prevent it being banned by finding the balance between using too less or too much of our smartphones.
