繪本英譯習(xí)作(1)：媽媽的美麗花

既然是雙語養(yǎng)育，雙語的融合自然是越深越好。我主要給群群讀英文繪本，中文繪本由爸爸、爺爺和奶奶讀。

我不會說上海話，群群又暫時不太懂普通話，要怎么給群群讀中文繪本呢？我試著將其中一些中文繪本翻譯成英文，也算是對自己繪本閱讀和研究的一次檢驗吧。

很喜歡《媽媽的美麗花》，畫風(fēng)太美好了，第一篇習(xí)作就是它啦。

我喜歡春天，漫天遍野的綠和花香。風(fēng)箏飛起來了，在陽光下亮晶晶的。

I loved springtime. I loved it when I saw and smelt big green and pleasant flowers everywhere, over the hills and across the meadows. Kites flew in springtime, sparkling in the warm spring sun.

我家的園子里卻沒有花。

Our garden did not grow flowers.

小貓?zhí)狭四抉R，搖了搖又跑了，好像在說：不好玩，不好玩。外面的世界更香呢。

My kitty hopped on a cock horse, rocking for a moment and slipped away. She seemed to say: “This is not fun. It smells much nicer outside".

媽媽給了我一顆種子。她說，這是美麗花的種子。我們一起來種花吧。

Mother gave me a seed and said: “This is the seed of a Pretty Flower. Let’s grow it together.”

把種子播在土里。

So we planted the seed in the soil.

細心地澆水。

We gave it water with care.

種子在泥土里睡著了嗎？

Has the seed fallen asleep in the soil? I wondered.

“別灰心，再等等?！眿寢屨f，“做個有耐心的孩子吧，過幾天它就會長出來的?！?/p>

“No need to worry, dear. We shall wait for it. ” Mother said. “Be more patient. It takes the seed a few days to sprout."

媽媽說得對，美是慢慢長出來的。

Mother was right. It took time for nice things to grow.

終于，小小的美麗花冒出腦袋了！

At last, the little Pretty Flower peeped out from the soil!

美麗花開了，像一只想飛的花蝴蝶。

The Pretty Flower was blossoming. It looked as pretty as a butterfly that wanted to flutter.

爸爸媽媽要帶我出門旅行。再見，美麗花，我會想你的。

Father and Mother were to take me for a trip. Bye bye, Pretty Flower, I would miss you so much.

我們回來了?？墒窃谝黄安葜?，我找不到美麗花了。野草毛茸茸的，可是我只愛美麗花。

When we came home from the trip, the Pretty Flower was nowhere to see. Overgrown grass took its place. The bushy grass was lovely to see, but I loved Pretty Flower more.

你在哪里呢？

Where have you gone, Pretty Flower?

“一定還要種一些美麗花！只種一朵是不夠的?！眿寢屨f。

"Let's plant more Pretty Flowers. One Flower is sure not enough." Mother said.

這個傍晚，我和爸爸一起除草，為美麗花整理出干凈的土地。

So Father and I worked to weed the garden that evening, making sure my Pretty Flowers had a neat place to grow.

我和媽媽撒播花的種子。

Mother and I then planted more Pretty Flower seeds.

輕輕的風(fēng)把媽媽和我的裙角吹起來了。

A gentle breeze blew over our dresses.

我不斷想象種子未來的模樣。

I couldn’t help picturing how lovely the Pretty Flowers would look.

媽媽說，花開需要耐心等待，所以我不著急，美麗花漸漸地冒出泥土，直到有一天...

Mother told me to be more patient for Pretty Flowers. So I waited patiently. Up up did Pretty Flowers grow. And one morning...

清晨我打開窗戶，小貓和我都驚呆了— 花的海洋??！

When I opened the window and there they were! An ocean of Pretty Flowers!

小貓小貓，你等等我！我們一起去看美麗花！

Wait up naughty kitty! Wait for me! I cried.

媽媽真像花仙子，媽媽我愛你！

Mother looked like a flower fairy to me. I love you, mummy!

美麗花越來越多。

More and more Pretty Flowers grew.

每天，花香陪伴我們上學(xué)放學(xué)。而我，也開始采集美麗花的種子。我要像媽媽一樣，把種子給更多的人，我要讓世界變成一個大花園。

The pleasant smell of Pretty Flowers greeted us on our way to and from school. I started to collect Pretty Flower seeds too. I had a wish of sharing my Pretty Flowers to more people, just as Mother did. I wanted to grow a garden as big as the world.

我覺得自己長大了。

"I have grown up!" I thought.

美麗花開得到處都是。在花的海洋里，有的爸爸媽媽還給孩子們講故事，我聽過，棒極了！

Pretty Flowers were everywhere. I saw fathers and mothers read stories to their children, cozy and snug in the flowers. It was perfect!

小貓也喜歡聽故事。

My kitty loved stories too.

長大以后，我也成了一個講故事的人。

And I did grow up. I have my children and I read to them too.
