VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for SAS Pudong Staff Appreciation Luncheon 2012
Who: We Need You!
When: Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
What: Volunteers needed to serve lunch to school staff, and monitor students, where necessary.
Where: ES Cafeteria, MS/HS Cafeteria, Playgrounds, and staff lunch area.
Come show your appreciation to our SAS Staff!
Please help us celebrate our phenomenal staff, who help make a difference in our children’s lives everyday!On Wednesday, May 16th, we will say “thank you” by serving our staff a special luncheon that you can help us prepare.Read ahead to see how you can help!
Parent participation is important to make our luncheon a success!
All families are asked to make a food/beverage donation.
Each grade has been assigned a course.Please plan to feed at least 10-15 servings.
If you have more than one child at SAS, you need only send one dish.If you have a specialty that is not in your course assignment – please feel free to make that!
Food assignments by grade:
Pre K/K – Dessert
1st grade – Salad or side
2nd grade – Salad (not green)
3rd grade – Side
4th grade – Appetizer
5th grade – Dessert
6th grade – Entree
7th grade – Vegetarian
8th grade – Entree
9th grade – Dessert
10th grade – Entree
11th grade – Hot side/vegetarian dish
12th grade – Drinks
Food donation ideas.Select one, or make your own specialty:
Appetizers: cheese platter, veggie or fruit tray, bruschetta/crostini, dips (dill, mexican, artichoke, etc.), chicken wings, hummus or baba ghanoush & pita, spring rolls, jiaozi, taquitos/empanadas, deviled eggs
Salads: coleslaw, potato or egg salad, tuna, chicken or shrimp salad, pasta salad, jello salad, fruit salad, broccoli salad, green salad (we will be limiting – rsvp early for this)
Vegetarian/vegetable/sides: veggie lasagna, baked cauliflower, sesame noodles, couscous, broccoli au gratin, baby bok choy, peperonata, baked mac & cheese, potato lyonnaise, sweet potatoes, shrimp fried rice, curried rice
Entrees: meat lasagna, stuffed shells, meatloaf, dolmas, satay, paella, poached salmon, bolognese, enchiladas, casseroles, stroganoff, meatballs, sausages, pad thai/noodles
Desserts: cakes (chocolate, red velvet, lemon, carrot, marble, etc.), cookies, puddings/custards,
tarts/trifles, tiramisu, cheesecake, cupcakes, bars (banana, lemon, etc)
Drinks: We’re trying to keep it simple, we know you are busy!We ask you to please send your donation in on Monday or Tuesday so that we have time to get everything chilled and ready.Feel free to make cash donations (Note “Senior” on the envelop; and deposit in the cash box available in the HS office) before May 9th.We will shop for you!
