Franklin D. Roosevelt is a very important president in U.S. history. He led U.S. out of the darkest days. When jobs were spare and homeless or poor people were all over the country, he created new bank and job systems. He gave the jobless people a chance to clean the National parks, that was great for both the people and the country. One thing he did that made him more close to the nation's people is his fireside chats. Every night, he would talk on the radio about the country's problems and his plans for them, and then people could listen to it by the firesides. Sadly, as he grew older, his body turned worse. He had the polio and sometimes bad headaches. He finally rested in peace in 1945. The whole nation was in a sad mood because he was one of the most important U.S. president ever.
