Hello everybody, welcome back to read with Susan. Today we are gonna read this book. It's called One Wheel. What's a wheel? Look, this is a wheel and this is one wheel. It's called a monocycle. Can you ride it, monkey? Um, I don't think I can. Susan cannot ride a monocycle either. But I think this woman can. Let's find out how to ride it.  

Page 1 
Look, this is the woman, and she is riding this monocycle. And it's called a one wheel, too. Look, she is a street performer, street performer, street performer. She is not just riding a monocycle, she is also playing the bobbin. Wow, so difficult! One wheel, said Chip. Chip is very happy to see this. Chip is clapping, clap, clap. Wow, amazing! Do you like  watching it? I like watching it, it's so cool.

Look, said Chip, one wheel. Ah, here is Biff, and here is Chip. What are they doing? Look, Chip is in the wheelbarrow, and the wheelbarrow has only one wheel, too. Biff is pushing him. And Chip is playing the bobbin. Do you think they are doing a very good trick? Yes, it's a good trip.

And then, Look, said mum. What is mum doing? Mum is riding a bicycle and also she is holding a stick. And she is spinning a plate. Wow, that seems so difficult a trick. Can you do it, everybody? No, I can't. It's so difficult. And Mum says, I am on two wheels. Two wheels, really? it's a bicycle. Everybody, can you ride a bike? I can ride a bike.

Now look at Kipper, where is Kipper? Kipper is sitting on a tricycle. That's called a tricycle, why? One, two, three, because it got three wheels. Look at me, said Kipper, I am on three wheels.  
OK, riding a tricycle is easy, you know, it's very easy to balance. Wow, Look, here are two balls. So Kipper is also juggling. Wow, that seems difficult, too. Wow, Look at Floppy, Floppy is surprised to see this.

And then, wow, here comes Biff. Look at me, said Biff, I am on four wheels. Four wheels, one, two, three, four, four very small wheels oh the skateboard. This is not easy to do. It's very easy to fall. And also Biff is wearing a helmet. Remember, when you are riding a bicycle or playing the skateboard, you must wear a helmet to protect your head. And also she is holding a tray. And on the tray, you can see one, two, three, four, four cups. Wow, this is so difficult, Amazing! Look, Daddy is showing this, amazing!  And everyone is clapping, good job, Biff.

Wow, here comes dad. What is dad doing? Dad is doing a wheelie. What does wheelie mean? It means balancing on the back wheel. That's so difficult. I can't do it, can you do it everyone? I can't do it. Look at dad, said mum, he is on one wheel. What about Floppy? Hey, I think Floppy is mimicking daddy, but Floppy doesn't have a wheel, Floppy is standing on the back legs. Wow, that's so cool, Daddy! Good job, Good job.

Oh no, said dad, no wheels now. What happened? Dad fell down and broke the laundry line. Oh my, dad, that was dangerous, don't try it. OK, so everyone I have a question for you. Which trick do you like best? Which one do you like? Well, Let's go one more time. This is the street performer, she is on one wheel. And then, here is Biff, here is Chip. They are on one wheel too. And then, Mum is on two wheels. And here Kipper is on three wheels. And here Biff is on four wheels. And dad is doing a wheelie. 

Ask and answer

1, (P1) Who is she? Street performer.         

2, (P2-3) And what's this? It's a wheelbarrow.

3, (P4-5) What's this? It's a bicycle.           

4, (P6-7) What's this? It's a tricycle.

5, (P8-9) What's this? It's a skateboard.       

6, (P10-11) What's is daddy doing? Daddy is showing a wheelie.

7, (P12) What is broken here? The laundry line is broken.
