In today's story, Mum and Dad took the children to a fair, and each kid wins a prize at the fair by catching a plastic duck with a hook. When Kipper wins a large a stuffed dog, Floppy is not happy. Let's go find why. 在今天的故事中，爸爸媽媽帶著孩子們?nèi)ビ螛穲隽?，在那里每個孩子都釣了一個塑料鴨子得了獎品。Kipper贏了一個超級大的毛絨狗狗，F(xiàn)loppy很不開心。我們一起去看看到底是為什么吧。

MM:看封面，Whocan you see andwheredo you think they are? 你能看到誰？你覺得他們在哪里呢？

BB:I can see the Kipper family, and I think they are at a fair. 我可以看到Kipper一家，我覺得他們在游樂場。

MM:Yes, and they all look so happily at something in front of them. What are they looking at? 是噠，而且他們都好開心地看著前面的東西，他們在看什么呢？

BB:They are looking at the ducks in the pool. 他們在看池子里面的鴨子呢。

MM:Do you think the ducks are real? Why? 那你覺得這些鴨子是真的么？為什么呢？

Obviously the ducks are not real, since real ducks cannot be so many colors, right? 很明顯，這些鴨子都不是真的鴨子，因為真的鴨子不會有這么多的顏色，對吧？

On the other hand, we can see that there is a ring on the head of every duck, oh, are they the angel ducks? Whaton earthare they? 另一方面呢，我們還可以看到每個鴨子的頭上都有一個小環(huán)，噢，難道他們是鴨子天使么？他們到底是什么呢？

BB:No, they are not angel ducks, and the ring on their head is for hooking. Look, I can see a pole leaning on the edge of the pool and a hook hanging on the stick. 不，它們并不是鴨子天使，它們頭上的小環(huán)是用來釣鴨子噠。你看，池子邊上有個桿子，上面掛著一個鉤子呢。

MM:Ah, I see, I think they are going to hook a duck. 我明白啦，我覺得他們要來釣鴨子。

MM:Let's read the title together: Hook a Duck. 我們一起來讀一讀標題：釣鴨子

MM:Have you ever hooked a duck before? What do you think is necessary to hook a duck? 你以前有釣過鴨子么？你覺得釣鴨子需要什么呢？

BB:I've hooked a fish, and I think patience is every necessary to hook a fish as well as a duck. 我有釣過魚，我覺得有耐心對于釣魚和釣鴨子來說都很有必要。

英美文化小百科：在傳統(tǒng)的游樂場里面鉤鴨子游戲非常常見。在一個水池里面漂著好多橡皮鴨子，這些鴨子的頭部都固定有金屬環(huán)，雖然看起來一樣，但只有少數(shù)鴨子的底部帶有隱藏的標記。鉤到這些帶有隱藏標記的鴨子就視為獲勝。

MM:看圖片，Here we can see that they are indeed at a fair, where we can see so many people and a lot of different stalls. 這里我們可以看出他們確實在游樂場，里面有很多人，很多不同的攤位。

MM:Look at the family, Mum is extending one hand and seems to be saying something. 我們來看看這一家子，媽媽伸出一只手，似乎在說著什么。

Let's read to see what she is saying."Hook a duck," said Mum.我們來讀一讀看看她在說什么吧:"鉤個鴨子吧"，媽媽說。

Oh, I see, Mum is suggesting the kids hook a duck, so we can see that Chip is holding the pole and trying to put the hook into the metal ring of aduck. 啊，我明白啦，原來媽媽是建議孩子們鉤個鴨子呢。所以我們可以看到Chip正拿著桿子試著把鉤子放進一只鴨子頭頂?shù)慕饘侪h(huán)里面呢。

MM:Who is the first to have a try to hook a duck? 誰是第一個嘗試鉤鴨子的呢？

BB:Chip goes first. Chip是第一個呢。

MM:From Page 1, we know that Chip is the first to hook the duck. So Chip had a go. Does he win something? What is it? 從第一頁上，我們知道Chip是第一個嘗試鉤鴨子的。所以呢，Chip試了一下。他贏得什么東西了么？贏了什么呢？

BB:Yes, he hooks a duck with a number on the bottom, so he wins, he wins a pen. 是噠，他鉤到了一個底部有數(shù)字的鴨子，所以說他中獎啦，贏了一支筆。

MM:Yes, you are right, look, the stall owner is checking the bottom of the rubber duck and giving a pen to him. 回答正確。攤主一邊檢查橡皮鴨子的底部一邊把筆遞給Chip。

BB:It's number 4. 是4.

MM:You are a smart boy. Now let's read:Chip had a go. He got a pen.真是個聰明的孩子。現(xiàn)在我們來讀一讀吧：Chip嘗試了一下。他贏得一支筆。

MM:Now who is having a go?現(xiàn)在誰在試著鉤鴨子呢？

BB:Biff, she is holding the pole and trying to hook a duck. 是Biff，她正拿著桿子鉤鴨子呢。

MM:Now let's read what the rest family members are doing. 現(xiàn)在我們來看一看其他的家庭成員在做什么。

Look at Mum, she is pointing to Biff, and seems to be saying something. 來看看媽媽，她正指著Biff，似乎還在說著什么。

Let's read to see what she is saying:"Have a go," said Mum. Biff had a go.我們來讀一讀這兩頁看看媽媽說了什么：媽媽說：你去試試。Biff去試了下。

What is Dad doing? We can see that he is taking some money out of his purse to pay for the stall owner. 爸爸在做什么呢？我們看到他正從錢包里面掏出錢來付錢給攤主呢。

Hahaha, perhaps Mumwears the pantsin the house and Dad is the one to pay. 哈哈，有可能呀，在家里媽媽是當家的，爸爸就是付賬的。

What are Chip and Kipper doing? 那么Chip和Kipper他倆在做什么呢？

Chip takes the pen out and he is checking if it works. Kipper might be waiting for his turn. Chip把筆拿出來了，正在試好不好寫。Kipper可能在等待著輪到自己也試一下鉤鴨子。

MM: Does Biff win a prize? What does she get? Biff得獎了么？她贏了什么呢？

BB:She gets a cat. Look, she is showing it to Chip. 她得了一只貓咪。你看，她正在向Chip展示呢。

MM:Yeah, right and she has got a cute red cat with white stripes. 對噠，她得了一只非?？蓯鄣募t白條紋小貓咪。

MM:Can you see who is hooking a duck now? 你能看出現(xiàn)在誰在鉤鴨子么？

BB:It is Kipper that is hooking a duck now. 現(xiàn)在Kipper在鉤鴨子呢。

MM:Look, Dad is paying again, here we can see that every time when a kid hooks a duck, you have to pay for it. 快看，爸爸又在付錢呢，這里我們就知道，每次鉤鴨子，都要付錢，對吧。

This is very different from the quoits game that we ususally play, you know, at quoits you give the stall owner 5 bucks, he will give you many rings, 5 or 10 for example, and then you can try many times, even ask your friends or your kids to try, until all the rings are used up. 這個呢跟我們平時玩的套圈游戲非常不同呢。我們知道，套圈的時候，你付給攤主5塊錢，他會給你好幾個圈，比如說，5個或者10個圈，然后你就可以套好多次，甚至可以邀請朋友或者孩子們試一試，知道這些圈全部套完。

MM:Look at Mum, she is half kneeling down and giving Kipper a thumbs-up, why do you think she is doing like that? 你看媽媽，她正彎腰屈膝，還對著Kipper豎大拇指，你覺得她為什么要那么做呢？

We know Kipper is the youngest kid of the family, both his brother and sister win a prize, now it's his turn to have a go, I think maybe he is a little bit nervous, so Mum is trying to encouraging him. 我們知道Kipper是家里最小的孩子，剛剛他的哥哥和姐姐都得獎了，現(xiàn)在輪到他了，我覺得呢，他可能會有丟丟緊張，所以他的媽媽在鼓勵他，盡管試一試，得不得獎都沒關系，對吧，只要敢于嘗試就好。

MM:Let's read:Biff got a cat. "Go on. Hook a duck." said Mum. Biff得到一只貓咪。媽媽說：去吧。鉤一只鴨子。

MM:Now look at Biff and Chip first. They exchange their prizes and play with them. And Mum is beside watching them with a smile on her face. 現(xiàn)在我們先來看看Biff和Chip。他們倆交換了各自的獎品在把玩著。媽媽呢，站在旁邊微笑著看著他們。

I think their Mum must be so pleased to see them get along with each other, rather than fight with each other. 我覺得他們的媽媽現(xiàn)在一定很欣慰，因為他們倆和睦相處，而不是在吵鬧打架。

MM:Now look at Kipper, do you think Kipper wins a prize? How can you tell? 現(xiàn)在我們來看看Kipper，你覺得他得獎了么？你是怎么看出來的呢？

BB:I think he wins a prize, too, since he is extending his two hands, which looks like prepared to take something from the stall owner, and the stall owner is bending down to take something from behind the stall. 我覺得他也得獎啦。因為他正伸出兩手，看起來準備接著攤主遞過來的東西，攤主呢正彎腰從他的攤位后面拿東西呢。

MM:I am wondering what Kipper will get. 我在線Kipper得了啥獎呢。

BB:It's dog, and a very big dog, look, I can see its big head and big mouth. 是狗，一條非常大的狗，我都看見它的大頭和大嘴巴啦。

MM:Oh, yeah? Let's read to see if you are right:Kipper had a go. He got a dog.是么？我們來讀一讀這兩頁看看你說的對不對好不好？Kipper試了一下。他得了一個狗狗。

MM:For these two pages, let's read first:It was a big dog. "What a big dog!" said Kipper.這兩頁呢，我們先來讀一讀：是一個大狗狗。Kipper說：好大個狗狗??！

康媽碎碎念：what引導的感嘆句呢，可以在生活中多跟寶寶說一說，比如屋子里面很亂的時候，可以說：What a mess! 比如天氣很好的時候，可以說：What a sunny day!或者說What a nice day! 寶寶幫忙的時候，可以說：What an excellent helper you are! 說幾次之后，遇到相應的場景，寶寶就會自己運用出來了。

MM:Wow, look at the dog, it is indeed a very big dog, even bigger than Kipper. 哇，你看這個狗狗，確實好大啊，比Kipper還要大呢。

Mum is a big shocked to see such a big toy dog, and other family members are very happy to see it. 媽媽看到這個大個狗狗玩偶有點吃驚呢，其他人倒是挺開心的。

See the black man looking back, maybe he is also thinking: What a big dog! 看到那個扭頭看他們的黑人叔叔了么？可能他也在想：哇，好大個狗狗??！

MM:On the last page, look at Floppy, he looks so fierce and not happy, why is that? 最后一頁上，你看Floppy，他看起來好兇，一點都不開心的樣子，為什么呢？

BB:Maybe because this toy dog is so big, so Floppy thinks it's a real dog. 可能是因為這個玩偶狗狗太大了，F(xiàn)loppy以為是真的狗狗。

MM:Yeah right, and Kipper is holding it, perhaps Floppy is feeling a bit jealous to see that. So Floppy doesn't like this toy dog, does he? 是的呢，你看，Kipper抱著這個大狗，可能Floppy看著心里都嫉妒了，所以Floppy并不喜歡它，對吧。

MM:Let's read:"Grrr!" said Floppy. Floppy說：Grrr!That is growling, what a funny and silly dog!我們來讀一讀這一頁：Floppy叫著：Grrr!他在怒吼呢，好搞笑又傻乎乎的狗狗啊！
