L3-14 Strawberry Jam 
 

H i , 小朋友，今天童老師給你講的故事叫 Strawberry Jam .   草莓醬。爸爸把瓶瓶罐罐擺了一桌。 W hat  did dad want to do? What does he have on his plate?  爸爸的盤子有什么呀？ Three small strawberries. Is he looking at the strawberries? No, he is looking at the book.  他到底想做什么呢？ Let’s read the story together.

Dad wanted to make jam.  “jam” 就是果醬。 W hat  kind of jam? Look what dad is thinking. Big red strawberries.  草莓又香又甜確實(shí)是做果醬的好材料。桌子上用來做草莓醬的鍋、瓶子、糖都有了，就差主角登場了。 W here   are   the   strawberries ?

爸爸來到后院， he  picked up some strawberries. “pick”  就是摘的意思。 M um  helped too. But, mum and dad didn’t look happy. Why? They were too small.  草莓太小了，可憐巴巴的，吃下去都是籽，沒多少肉。連 Floppy   看了都一臉的嫌棄。 I   don’t want to eat them.  草莓不但小，而且還沒幾個(gè)。 D id  they pick up  enough strawberries to make jam? Where do you go when you want strawberries? Supermarket? M um had   a  good idea.

M um took everyone to the pick-your-own.  “  pick-your-own ” 是一種特別的農(nóng)場，在這兒你可以直接到地里去，采水果摘蔬菜，百分百的新鮮。 W hy  did mum take everyone? “You can all help,” said dad. Look at Kipper, he was jumping up and down.

T hey  all picked strawberries.  你看，草莓是貼著地長的， Chip 干脆四腳著地，趴在地上摘。 W hat  did Kipper just do? Kipper put some in his pocket. Kipper,  草莓是軟軟的，你放在褲子口袋里，不就壓扁了嗎。 L ook, his pocket was red, his lips  were red too.  難道他偷吃了草莓？ Kipper 這個(gè)小饞貓連吃帶 拿的。

H ow  many  strawberries did they pick?  滿滿兩大籃。 W ere  they small strawberries? No. they were big fat juicy strawberries.  又大又肥又多汁。 W hat  did Chip do? Chip took the strawberries to the car.  What’s wrong? The car was locked. Did  he go back to tell mum and dad?   讓爸爸媽媽給他車鑰匙開門對吧？

No.  He forgot about the strawberries. Where did he go? He went to see the donkeys.  這些驢子看起來挺開心的。 C hip  was feeding them a strawberry. Where did he get the strawberry?  會(huì)不會(huì)是 Kipper   偷偷放進(jìn)褲子里的那一顆呀？ what  did the children do next?

T he  children had an ice cream.  你看 Chip   那陶醉的樣子，他心里想啊， ”I found the ice cream van first, you should all thank me.” Kipper  呢，一半吃到嘴里，一半分給衣服褲子和手指了。不過 Kipper 雖然吃的到處都是，好歹都吃到嘴里去了。 L ook  what happened to Biff. Her ice cream fell. Poor Biff.  要不然跟爸爸媽媽說說再去買一個(gè)吧?？墒前职謰寢屢豢幢戆?， it  was time to go home.  好吧回家吧，回家吃草莓去。

E veryone  were in the car.  媽媽一倒車，只聽哐啷一聲。 W hat happened? The car ran over the strawberries. Oh, no , said everyone. Chip  叫的最大聲， ”I forgot the strawberries. I am sorry.”

爸爸 下車，提起被壓得稀巴爛的籃子，里邊的草莓都?jí)撼舍u了。 ” Traffic jam!” said dad. “ traffic” 是交通， ”jam” 是果醬，這兩個(gè)風(fēng)馬牛不相及的詞放在一起，在英語里是堵車的意思。如果路上所有的車都擠在一起挪啊 ， 挪啊，像不像一大堆果醬在一起煮啊 ， 煮啊。下次你碰到堵車的時(shí)候可以教爸爸媽媽，這就叫 ” Traffic jam ”
