Happy birthday

Happy birthday to my sweet!

You turned five years old today. Five years old feels like a big deal. You have completed the fingers on one hand and it's your last year staying in kindergarten before you start primary school.

No doubt，this year is quite a busy year for both of us. Let me review.

We try various kinds of sports in this year， TAEKWONDO， jumping rope, physical trainning, horse riding, dancing, roller skating, bicycle. You can't believe how I feel proud of you in the whole process, because you could understand, even at your age, any sport or anything you have to work hard before you perform very well. We both are having dynamic view of anything.  We won't say we can't make it at first. Even though, at the beginning, we were going through a failure and felt frustrated, we still face our weakness and practice enough to do well. Your hard work and focus even has a markable impact on me when I meet any trouble in my job. I often remind myself of how you manage to learn jumping rope, from swing ropes, single hop, continuous hops, and up to now, some jumping tricks. And I have to admit you learn some sports much faster than I thought, 3 hours to learn riding bicycle, 8 hours to learn roller skating from zero, much too faster than me. Based on the fact that you're in the 3th percentile for height, we will keep up with sports for every single day, and I believe you will make it! Even though we can not catch up with height so quickly, we enjoy the benefits that sports bring to us. 

Because of your effort, in the final of Star of Reading-National Youth Reading Talent Show, you showed all the judges how you kept getting better at jumping rope.  And on 21st Century English Competition, we had speech of sports theme again. In Star of Reading-National Youth Reading Talent Show, we awarded 2nd prize in the Beijing area. But we met waterloo in 21st Century English Competition, I apologize in advance for that. I had taken such a hard competition too lightly. Once we are in, we have to make all-out effort, from the very initial preparation. That is the lesson I learned.

In this year, we start music class and we begin to learn music theory. To be honest, you are the one who is teaching me every lesson. Just yesterday, we receive praise from music teacher, because the beats and pitches are all correct in your video homework which you practice a few times before we send it to teacher. It is not a easy process for both of us to stick with music class in the past 9 months. Only two of us know how many times we practice to finish weekly homework. I truly hope a skill, like music, could get you companied and bring you enjoyment.

You have given yourself the best 5th birthday gift ever, jumping rope with some tricks, retelling a 5 minute story without my help, singing a song all be yourself. No one can take away your skills. They are your own treasue already.

Every year on your birthday, I write you a letter. This year I am going to read you my letter because you have been thinking about the world. I have been loving our conversations.You are getting more and more awesome.
