美文欣賞（二）：China and New Zealand

In China, I study in a middle school, year 6. In school, we are busy all day long. In the morning, we learn Maths, English, Chinese and do a lot of exercises, we are all busy and tired. After lunch, we can play on the playground about half an hour. But our Maths teacher always give us a lot of exercises or make us do some tests. We all feel very tired and angry. We should learn Maths and English after lunch too. We also have lots of extra lessons such as Art , computer lessons, and haven’t too much time to play and have rest. After school, we have a lot of homework to do. So I often finish them at about 10:00 in the evening. We are so busy and tired. My friends in school are very friendly. We always help each other. We are all afraid of our Maths teacher, Because she always gives us a lot of exercises and tests. We should do these exercises after lessons. My English teacher is kind, her name is Sherry. We all like her. Because she always tell us some interesting things on lessons. And we like English. My Chinese teacher is kind too, but she always gives us a lot of homework. After school, I always play basketball with my friends, because I like basketball very much. My dream is to play in NBA. This is our only rest time. 

My lunch is cooked by my school, but I don’t want to eat our school’s lunch. It tastes too bad and it looks very dirty. We couldn’t bring lunch to school. I think Chinese environment is very dirty and noisy. A lot of pollution at here, and we use a lot of plastic products, such as plastic bags, plastic forks and knives, plastic gloves and so on. They are all bad for environment. We can’t see stars in the sky at night and we can’t see rainbow after rain at all. The rain water is very dirty, so we have to wash cars and clean windows after rainy. 


This summer holiday we went to New Zealand. It’s very clean and very beautiful. I had a different life there. 


At host family Jim and I woke up at 7:00 in the morning. I like Sweet-bix and milk. Then we went to Cambridg Middle School. Sometimes we went to school on walk, sometimes our host Dad drove us to school. 


At school, we could play on the playground, this playground was very big, we always play football together and sometimes we play basketball. Then we had several lessons, such as Music, Writing, Science. We had morning tea and lunch time. We could take our favorite food to school, Jim and I prefer host Mum’s food, they tasted nice. And we could play at afternoon. We had no homework and tests there, so we had a lot of time to play. I liked science lessons most. It’s wonderful and magical. One day, we learned some information technology and we saw a lot of interesting things, such as fire must use air and it can be burned and make warm......After that, we could do science experiment by ourselves, they were so funny and they could make us happy. We also could get some gifts. It was very interesting. 


After school, about 3:00, Jim, Sam (homestay’s daughter )and I came back home together. We played game and puzzles at home. Sometimes Jim and I helped them ordering newspapers, because this is their part-time job. 


At weekends, our tour guide Michael drove us to a lot of interesting places, such as Luge, Waitomo Cave. All of them are interesting. 

I like New Zealand.
