給某些翻譯名家提點小意見

為什么想寫這個帖子呢，因為看到太多所謂推薦：“買書就買**社”、“**出品，必屬精品”、“很多譯者是公認的大師級別：***、***、***（暫時都不點名，畢竟對事不對人）”。

老譯本有屬于他們的時代，前輩們的德藝雙馨也值得頌揚。所以，本文批評只針對作品，不針對人品。任先生譯介作品幾十年，為讀者帶來無數(shù)接觸國外優(yōu)秀童書的機會，功不可沒。據(jù)說本人也和藹可親，富有童心，再次表達敬仰。

然而，譯著好壞，唯一的檢驗標準是對！照！原！文！如果經不起原文對照，那真的需要進一步修訂改正。遺憾的是，任老師的作品，似乎很少有修正，看了好幾本，都存在不少問題。拔草寫這類帖子估計會被噴，畢竟“不夸名人要死”系列和“夸了名人，與有榮焉”系列的人還是挺多。真的，追宣傳的不用繼續(xù)讀下去了。想落實文本，白紙黑字看看具體產物的，我表示感謝（代表這堆字沒白碼）。

總的來說，問題存在以下幾大類，各類都有若干實例。如需更多，可隨便找本書對照一下原文。

一、譯文不流暢（這類毛病即便不對比原文，僅看看試讀都能體會出來，家長們不要偷懶）

【例】：I carefully stashed my equipment at the very back of my bottom drawer in the bureau we shared.

【任溶溶譯】：我把我那些用品小心地放在我和她合用的柜子里在我的底下一個抽屜的盡里頭。

【例】：I picked up the bottle and hurled it at the wall above her bed. It smashed there and fell, leaving a mixture of shattered glass and lotion to ooze down the wall after it.

【任溶溶譯】：我拿起瓶子往她床上面的墻上扔。它撞在墻上落下來，在墻上留下玻璃碎片和潤膚露混在一起的一灘東西往下流。

二、低級語法錯誤和詞匯理解錯誤

【例】：…to get me blankets and see to the afterbirth.

【任溶溶譯】：……拿來毯子，過來照看著第二個孩子。

【糾錯】：afterbirth胞衣(指胎盤及羊膜)

【例】She stared at me full in the eyes. I was too afraid to look away.

【任溶溶譯】：她瞪著我。我嚇得轉開眼睛。

【糾錯】：too……to 這種語法結構是什么意思，相信很多小朋友都知道。

三、背景知識錯誤（時代原因or缺乏嚴謹考證的態(tài)度）

【例】：Roosevelt was elected to a fourth term in the fall of 1944 without the help of Rass.

【任溶溶譯】：羅斯福在1944年秋天當選為第四任總統(tǒng)，他沒有得到過拉斯島的幫助。

【糾錯】：應該是第四次連任。羅斯福是美國第三十二任總統(tǒng)。美國第四任總統(tǒng)是詹姆斯·麥迪遜

【例】： Then he showed me where all the fairy-tale books were and Peter Rabbit and Pippi Longstocking and those thick books about the inventor of the telephone, the heroes of the North Pole, and ones about Indians that he usually borrows.

【任溶溶譯】：接著他告訴我童話書在哪里 ，有《霍比特》、《長襪子皮皮》。他指點我看那些小字厚書，它們寫電話的發(fā)明人、北極的探險英雄和印第安紅種人等等，這些書是他常借的。

【糾錯】： Peter Rabbit是《彼得兔》。

【例】：I borrowed a book called Daddy-Long-Legs and one called The Borrowers. Mama and I could read them in the evenings.

【任溶溶譯】：我選了一本 《胡蘿卜，一個男孩的故事》，一本《借東西的地下小人》，給媽媽和我在晚上念。

【分析】：Daddy-Long-Legs是《長腿叔叔》。

四、大段刪減or漏譯

【例】："Stop fighting," Fig says.

Now it was time to put on the dinner. Mama pre-pares everything in the morning before she goes to the shop. She puts the pans on the stove and sets the table. There is always something left for me to do, though. I put on Mama's apron.

That day a lady came and asked to borrow a cork-screw just when I was busiest.

"So you are making dinner," she said.

"Oosh, yes," I said. "Yesterday I had to heat the pea soup. Today I have to put on the macaroni. It is terrible how it sticks together."

I found the corkscrew for her, though. When the pan was simmering, I returned to funny families.

"Has Mr. Gremmily Soot no sense? Mrs. Soot is digging her fingers into the cream cake," I shouted.

"Come, come, Roily Doughnut, are we not even al-lowed to eat when we are invited here?"

"I am Mrs. Montdragon. Out of my way, you rabble. Do you really help yourselves before me, the noblest of you all?"

"Help, Slippy Snatch pinched my piece of cake."

"Go lose yourself, you old cow."

It was the chimneysweep's wife and the countess and the pickpocket's wife having coffee with the baker's wife.

Just then I heard the lady coming back with the corkscrew.

" What on earth! You mustn't talk like that.' she said.

【任溶溶譯】：“閉上你的嘴，你這笨蛋！”

就在這時候，樓下一位太太上樓來敲房門。她是來借開瓶塞的起子的，在門外聽見了我在房間里大喊大叫。

“ 你可不能說那么難聽的話，萊娜，”她說。“ 你到底在玩什么游戲啊？”

【分析】：是的，這么大段話，譯文只有上面那幾句。其他漏一句兩句的，就不在這兒舉例了。遺漏比比皆是，估計是看心情吧，哪句看著不順眼，大筆一揮直接刪。

每一項都還有N多實例，不寫了。拋磚引玉吧，希望大家能把目光都放在實實在在的文本上，文字如此直觀的東西，自己讀一讀，比看任何宣傳都有用。是好是壞，白紙黑字都是證據(jù)，好的差不了，差的也好不了。
