Generalized anxiety

Wish my parents would have been telling me what to do during those days with anxiety and worries about socializing with the so-called popular girls. 
Anyhow, i stepped out of it eventually and managed to laugh at myself in that period. 
What’s funny is that the seemingly popular girls aren’t able to step out of their popularity long ago and seem to have trouble with it in adulthood. Why ain’t i the focus any more?
Hope my boy in his puberty would like to share his trouble with me and i would love to help him out with my experience and knowledge from parenting books.
