今天是媽媽的生日，大家搞了哪些有趣的活動呢？

Today let's read Making Faces.

今天我們來讀《做鬼臉》。

Look at the cover! What were the children doing?

看看封面！小朋友們在做什么？

They were making faces!

他們在做鬼臉呢！

What kind of faces were they making?

他們都做了什么鬼臉呢？

Chip was like this (parent do it).

Chip是這樣（家長表演出來）。

Biff was like this (parent do it).

Biff是這樣（家長表演出來）。

Kipper was like this (parent do it).

Kipper是這樣（家長表演出來）。

The family was playing a game.

大家在做游戲。

Dad got a card which said 'fierce'.

爸爸拿到了一張寫著“兇猛”的卡。

So Dad put on a fierce face.

爸爸露出了兇猛的表情。

“Good job, ”said Chip, “That’s very fierce.”

“很棒，”Chip說，“這個很兇猛呢?！?/p>

He gave Dad a thumps-up.

他給爸爸豎起了大拇指。

Chip got a card which said 'sad'.

Chip拿到了一張寫著“傷心”的卡。

Chip put on a sad face.

Chip表現(xiàn)地很傷心。

Well done, Chip!

真不錯呢，Chip！

Dad clapped his hands.

爸爸鼓掌啦。

Then it was Biff's turn.
 接下來輪到Biff了。

Biff got a card which said 'good'.

Biff拿到了一張寫著“很好”的卡。

Biff closed her eyes and looked good.

她閉上眼睛，看起來很不錯的樣子。

Dad laughed happily.

爸爸笑得很開心。

Where was Kipper?

Kipper去哪里了？

Look! He was crawling away.

看！他爬走啦。

Mum got a card which said 'frightened'.
媽媽拿到了一張寫著“害怕”的卡片。

Mum put on a frightened face.

媽媽表現(xiàn)出很害怕的樣子。

She was so frightened that her hat fell off.

她太害怕了以至于她的帽子都掉了。

Dad was surprised by Mum's performance.

爸爸驚訝于媽媽的表現(xiàn)。

Where was Kipper again?

Kipper呢？

Oh. He went into another room.

哦，他去另外一個房間了。

What was Kipper doing in another room?
 他在另外一個房間做什么呢？

He was eating!

他在吃東西呢！

There was a lot of delicious food on the table.

桌子上有好多美味的食品。

There was a birthday cake, some cupcakes, cookies, sandwiches, and so on.

有一個生日蛋糕，還有杯子蛋糕，餅干，三明治等等。

Kipper was holding a sandwich in his right hand and a pie in his left hand.

Kipper右手拿了一個三明治，左手拿了一個派。

Kipper was hungry.

Kipper餓啦。

你最喜歡他們誰的表演呢？

黃豆媽說

在英國、澳大利亞、新西蘭這些英聯(lián)邦的主要國家，成年的標識有兩個年齡，一個是18歲，一個是21歲?，F(xiàn)在一個人到了18歲，在法律上就成了成年人，有選舉和被選舉權(quán)，有買煙酒、有不經(jīng)父母同意結(jié)婚和簽署合同的權(quán)利，不過傳統(tǒng)上的成年年齡是21歲。

為了慶祝成年，人們會在成年者18或21歲時為他舉行比較熱鬧的聚會（an extravagant party），請親朋好友來到家里，吃大餐，開酒戒。所以，這本書中，媽媽戴了一個“21 Again”的牌子，就是想重回21歲，類似我們會在蛋糕上寫的“永遠18歲”。

特別提醒

1. 每個寶寶的年齡不一樣，基礎(chǔ)不一樣，不需要完全按照以上文本來講。如果孩子感興趣，就多說一點，不感興趣就少說一點，都沒問題。

2. 只要孩子理解，或看圖能明白，或家長可以用肢體語言或者指物的方式讓孩子明白，就不要翻譯。

3. 如果實在不能理解，可以適當(dāng)解釋，但不需要字對字翻譯。
